Mrotek Pit – Hwy 77 (Monarch)
Update 10/24/2019: Crusher Operation.
Milestone Materials will be moving a crusher into the Mrotek Pit to begin crushing on November 5, 2019. The crusher is scheduled to run approximately 4 to 6 weeks. Permitted hours of operation for the crusher are 7:00am to 9:00pm Monday through Saturday, Monarch however agreed with the Round Lake Board in October of 2018 that they would limit crushing hours at Mrotek Pit from 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Saturday, the option to extend the crushing until 9:00pm if there was a special situation such as weather or project requirements. At this time they do not anticipate any weather or project requirements so they are planning on crushing 7:00am to 7:00pm, Monday through Saturday. If weather or project requirements come up they will extend crushing hours until 9:00p.m. and notice of this will be updated on website.
Weather permitting, startup of the asphalt plant at the Mrotek Pit around April 4. Maintenance may start sooner than April 4 if the weather cooperates. The estimated workload out of the plant this year will be busier in the spring and again in the fall to supply asphalt for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation projects on US Highway 63 and State Highway 27 in the City of Hayward. During the summer in between supplying asphalt for the Wisconsin DOT projects, we expect the workload out of the plant to be similar to last year: on and off as needed to supply asphalt for various projects in the area.
The permitted hours of operation for the asphalt plant are 6:00am to 9:00pm Monday through Saturday with maintenance allowed one hour before and one hour after.
Milestone Materials is planning on crushing at the Mrotek Pit this year in July or August, but the estimated start date has not been determined.
