Mark your calendars for the annual Moose Lake Festival held the first Saturday in August. The Moose Lake Fest is the chief fundraiser for both the Town of Round Lake Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Chequamegon Lions Club. Festival favorites include the homemade pie auction, the big white elephant sale, a wheel of fortune, door prizes, and day-long raffles. Plus there are plenty of craft projects to keep the kids busy! Bring an appetite as there is hearty food available including brats, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, ice cream and more. Everybody is encouraged to join in festival fun. Visit mooselakefest.org for details.
About the Pie Auction
As it was at Fire Department Picnics in days past, the Pie Auction is a “main event” at the Festival. Everyone is encouraged to bring a donation of a special pie or cake to the Festival. And there are numerous raffles taking place all day, especially for items handcrafted by local talented crafters, so if you have an item you have created and would like to donate, please contact Marilyn Karns at 715-462-9445 or email@example.com.
And the White Elephant Sale
Another popular event is the great White Elephant (rummage) sale. Bring your treasures to the recycling center on County Road A every Saturday and Wednesdays in June from 8:00 AM to Noon. We are looking for good quality items that have a resale value. Sorry, the following items cannot be accepted: broken or misused items, tires, upholstered furniture, mattresses, large appliances (stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, and freezers), TVs, computers, computer peripherals, clothing, and Styrofoam coolers. If you have any questions, please contact Lou Grayson at 715-462-9538
